My photographs show that no matter what people leave behind, these objects symbolize dramas of the past and bring them to light in the present. They show that no matter how insignificant some things seem, they are still an important part of everyday life. From toilet paper holders that are staples of everyday life, to a rocker recliner someone spent hours on rocking their problems away these forgotten possessions signify the loss of innocence, the loss of family, the loss of good times, and the loss of continuity.
The photographs remind us that sometimes circumstances leave us with out choice of what we can or cannot bring along with us. Either way life does go on. We are born, go through childhood, enter adolescence, and continue to adulthood. Every stage of our lives contains the memories of a life left behind. I hope the viewer can create their own stories and question why an object is abandoned.
